MSP goes around the world with Bruce Schwab and Ocean Planet in the Vendee- Globe 2004.
In October we built a new Cuben Fiber mainsail for Bruce Schwab's Open 60, Ocean Planet. We're proud to be part of the effort as Bruce attempts to become the first American ever to complete this non-stop, single-handed, around-the-world race.

Contender Sailcloth has just introduced an intriguing new line of asymmetrical laminates they are calling Maxx (for Multi-Axial). These laminates are specifically designed for use in a sophisticated version of the classic cross-cut panel arrangement.
Dynalite Spinnaker Cloth
Contender Sailcloth's line of Dynalite spinnaker cloths incorporate a proprietary hard silicone polymer coating for an extremely slippery finish. Dynalite spinnakers shed water, slide under booms, and slip around forestays like no other spinnaker.
MSP Announces New Hydra-Net Radial Sail Fabric
This year Dimension-Polyant, one of our cloth suppliers, introduced warp-oriented versions of their unique Hydra-Net fabrics. Hydra-Net is an extremely tight weave of relatively small polyester yarns interlaced with a Spectra/Dyneema net. Its unique construction accepts higher loads than the equivalent weight woven Dacron.
MSP Acquires New Carlson Plotter/Cutter
In January, Maine Sailing Partners took delivery of a new Carlson Designs C-2 plotter cutter to replace our 8 year old M-2000. This new machine is both faster and more precise than our old machine, which should allow us to reproduce our designs both more accurately and more quickly than ever before.
